Leadership Coaching certificate program (LCCP)

Become a stronger leader who coaches others to become leaders.

The University of Rochester’s Warner Center and Ramerman Leadership Group combine expertise to offer a unique, specialized university-level executive management development opportunity that leads to local certification: The Leadership Coaching Certificate Program. We provide powerful learning experiences for leaders and coaches, with a principal focus on strengthening leadership practices designed to increase performance and to transform the work environment and culture.

The Leadership Learning Collaborative beliefs:

Our beliefs about leadership, coaching, and diversity define the foundational pillars for the Leadership Coaching Certificate Program’s content and process:

  • We believe that effective leadership skills and competencies can be learned and developed.

  • We believe that the coaching discipline provides a powerful adult learning platform for the developing leader.

  • We believe that leaders are most powerfully developed through being coached, being coachable, and knowing how to coach others.

  • We believe that the journey to effective leadership must include personal insights derived from one’s reflection on and engagement in diversity and social justice issues.

Who Should Attend?

This course is for leaders at all levels, human resources staff, consultants, coaches, and emerging coaches who are committed to developing leaders. Enrollment has begun for the next cohort. Class size is limited.

What you will learn

Presence: The greatest tool the leader-coach can deploy in the development process is oneself. By enhancing self-knowledge and generating self-mastery, you will learn how to set the tone and create an environment in which successful development can take place.

Clarity, credibility, and encouragement: For coaching to be effective, your coachees must develop clarity about their issues, decide on clear appropriate actions, and enact their decisions. You will enhance your own confidence and credibility as you encourage and coaching others on their own leadership journey.

Transformation: Engaging in transformational leadership is challenging for even the most experienced leaders. It is crucial to maintain partnerships with your coachees and others as they manage change. This program helps you develop the skills and strategies to stay connected and be an encouraging presence.

WHAT THE COURSE ENTAILS

And you will enjoy the continued support of respected leadership practitioners and your colleagues while you learn to apply your new skill. This course provides 120.5 student contact hours.

Exploration of effective theories and best practices. Participants are exposed to and try evidence-based leadership/coaching and diversity best practices.

Experience with leadership and coaching tools. Participants are introduced to the theory and use of professional instruments used to assess interpersonal communications styles, leadership, and diversity effectiveness.

Pro bono coaching practicum. Participants practice their developing coaching skills pro bono with three coachees of their choice.

Integrate the practice of coaching with leadership development and effectiveness in working with diversity.
